Elan GT6 Explorer

At the onset of the Cannes Yachting Festival, Elan Yachts unveiled a new addition to their fleet: the Elan GT6 Explorer, also known as the Elan GT6 X in its abbreviated form. As suggested by its name, the Explorer is built on the platform of the multiple award-winning GT6—a luxurious 49-foot cruiser designed in collaboration with Studio F. A. Porsche. Notably, it was one of the first sub-50-foot yachts of its kind to feature a flush deck.

A Journey Beyond the Horizon

Designed for adventurous sailors aiming to explore the world's seas without sacrificing luxury or aesthetic appeal, the Explorer seeks to harmonize practical maritime utility with high-end design. It boasts an array of modern equipment, hand-crafted furniture, and the latest in GRP composite technology.

Technology and Blue-Water Features

Elan Yachts sets a new standard with its 3D VAIL (3D Vacuum Assisted Infusion Lamination) hull technology, ensuring robust, stiff, osmosis-proof, and lightweight performance. The additional forestay, coupled with reinforcements and a pad eye, empowers sailors to deploy a staysail, enhancing sailing versatility. A self-tacking track provides smooth short-handed manoeuvres, thereby simplifying the sailing process. The laminated bulkheads, both in the bow and aft, have been fortified to be watertight, ensuring the utmost protection against water ingress.

Range and autonomy are paramount for a blue water cruising yacht of this type. Addressing this necessity, the Explorer is fitted with a robust 500 L fuel tank capacity and up to six 140 Ah service lead-acid or LiPo batteries, that can be charged via an optional solar installation of up to 1187 Wp. Further enhancing its self-sufficiency, the yacht can be equipped with a water maker capable of producing 100 L/h and a generator with a maximum output of 6400 W.

Embracing the Future with Oceanvolt

In catering to the forward-thinking sailors, eco-conscious explorers, and early adopters of marine innovation, Elan continues established a partnership with Oceanvolt. The GT6 Explorer offers an array of Oceanvolt propulsion choices, emphasizing sustainable sea travel. Impressively, the electric iteration of the GT6 Explorer can be equipped with a potent 25kW continuous (30kW peak power) HighPowerServoProp motor, complemented by batteries boasting up to 62.4 kW capacity and capability for power generation whilst sailing, both through the solararray and hydrogeneration of the servoprop. For ultimate versatility, the Oceanvolt drive can be paired with a 15 kW generator, morphing the GT6 Explorer into a hybrid yacht.

The Exquisite Exterior: Form Meets Function

Drawing from Studio F. A. Porsche’s legacy, the Explorers’ hull showcases clear, distinctive lines, a distinctive angular stance, and the sharp powerful silhouette. It creates a feeling of strength, and agility. Echoing its pioneering legacy, the Explorer prominently highlights a flush deck, of the original GT6—a trailblazer in its segment to champion this feature. Enhancing the Explorer's design is its spacious cockpit, designed for efficient shorthanded sailing and comfortable onboard living. In contrast to most other blue-water cruisers, the Explorer provides a more mediterranean yachting inspired experience, presenting more space and equipment for a range of alfresco lifestyle options, whether it’s enjoying a barbecue outdoors, big game fishing or taking a moment to sunbathe.

Central to the yacht's new features is the cockpit arch, a modern addition that offers a blend of functionality, aesthetics, and protection. Enhancing the multifaceted capabilities of the GT6 Explorer is the optional inclusion of a dinghy arch. With this feature, sailors have the freedom to easily stow a serviceable tender.

Interior Elegance: Comfort Meets Adventurous Spirit

Crafted through the expert touch of Studio F. A. Porsche, the space marries aesthetic finesse with practical features. Each facet of the design aims to serve dual purposes: offering comfort to the adventurous sailor and providing a serene sanctuary for those in search of respite.

The yacht features a forward-facing chart table, strategically positioned for the skipper's ease of access to essential navigation equipment. Adding to the social atmosphere, a spacious seating area in the saloon invites guests to relax and revel in maritime camaraderie. Positioned directly above the keel, the forward-galley layout provides a stable platform that simplifies cooking while under way. This strategic placement takes advantage of the yacht’s most stable area, maximizes storage options, and can be equipped with modern amenities such as a dishwasher, front-loading refrigerators, a freezing compartment, and ample protected countertop space.

In crafting the Explorer, flexibility is key. Owners can choose between a two-cabin or a three-cabin layout to suit their specific needs and preferences. Opting for the two-cabin configuration repurposes the third cabin into a versatile utility hold. This thoughtful design decision creates dedicated spaces for wet and dry storage, accessible from the cockpit and the interior, or even the inclusion of a washing machine, adding another layer of practicality to this vessel.

Elan Impression 43

Elan yacht has been designed with every comfort in mind. Leisure when cruising is guaranteed. Relaxation and enjoyment is a priority – everything from a large volume, sunbathing areas in cockpit, outdoor grill and fridge, to microwave and coffee machine options.

Exterior

The cockpit is built for enjoyment at anchor as well as sailing pleasure. Ample seating for up to 10 people will make sure everyone has comfort on board. Optional modular cockpit table converts into two sunbeds and enables lounging and sunbathing in the cockpit as well. Beautifully designed steering pedestals can support 9-inch electronics and a myriad of other instruments one might wish for. The twin helm with composite steering wheels offers freedom of movement aboard.

There are plenty of cockpit lockers as well, offering enough space for a life-raft, and any other equipment that needs to be on hand.

Integrated into the deck are two transom boxes, which offer an extended seating area for the skipper and guests and can hold both a grill and a refrigerator.

The yacht comes with a small bathing platform in standard specification, and that can be upgraded to a large platform for more space, safety, and a closed transom feel.

No Impression yacht would be complete without the now-iconic transom seats, which are sure to be the first taken as the yacht sets sail.

The deck can be enhanced with both synthetic and real teak, depending on the wishes of the owner. Large, flush hatches and portlights are built in the coach roof in many places, letting both light, and that soothing breeze in the interior.

The yacht has a self-tacking jib in standard, but can also be upgraded to a genoa among other options.

Interior

Owners can choose between three or four-cabin versions. The three-cabin version includes an en-suite with an island bed and a spacious head with a separate shower, and the four-cabin version adds a cabin with bunk beds, perfect for families or groups of friends.

The interior is built with “rustic” oak veneer and marine-grade plywood, contrasted with modern gray-coloured storage cupboards. A solid oak wood finish is applied wherever the furniture is expected to go through most use, to increase its durability.

The saloon can comfortably seat the crew around a centre table, flanked by two solid wood chairs that fold in a pre-determined space when sailing. It can also be easily converted into a double berth.

The long side-galley features a three-ring stove with an oven and a front-opening refrigerator on the convenient L-shaped cabinet. The long layout offers plenty of surface space and cupboards for storage. The stove area is protected by easy-to-clean panels and is ventilated by a hatch above.

Construction and Design

Boasting a modern wide-beam hull, the yacht offers much more space than previous models. Due to the continuing tradition of a raised coach roof, what we call a “semi-deck-saloon”, it holds its own against competitors as well.

It will surprise no one that the hull and sail plan was designed by Humphreys Yacht Design. Be rest assured that the yacht will therefore have great sailing characteristics even at fully-loaded larger displacement yachts.

The yachts aesthetics were styled in cooperation with the design studio Pininfarina, a relationship that birthed the multiple design award-winning Elan E6 and is now continuing with the Elan Impression 43.

The hull and sail plan are optimized for easy short-handed sailing. Elan’s recognizable 3D VAIL composite technology creates a light, stiff and incredibly safe construction style. VAIL, or vacuum-assisted infusion lamination process creates a solid hull without imperfections or air bubbles, which, in combination with the vinyl ester outer layer makes the yacht osmosis-proof. The “3D” part of vacuum-assisted infusion lamination is applied to the vertical and lateral stringers, which ensures the best mechanical properties of the hull and rigging and is the secret behind Elan’s famed hull stiffness.

The deck is also constructed in VAIL technology, which adds to lightness and durability to the yacht as well as improves mechanical properties of the composite. Moreover, the construction technology process is safer for the workers and the environment, as it protects the workers from chemical exposure and reduces waste.

The yacht has twin rudders, designed by Humphreys Yacht Design, in-house epoxy constructed rudders optimized for rigidity, endurance, and control. The twin rudder design provides finger-tip steering and reduces the tendency to broach.

The Elan Impression 43 Heralds a New Era for the Famous Elan Impression Line

For more than 18 years since the launch of the first Elan Impression, the Impression line was one of the key global players in the family cruising segment. These “modern classics” have won multiple awards, and are universally known as reliable, easy to maintain and sail, safe, stiff, and exceptionally durable.

They are synonymous with having a great, worry-free relaxing time on the water, while one explores the world’s seas and oceans with family and friends. Several have circumnavigated the globe with minimal crew.

They are also a top-of-mind choice for many investors as they are a safe investment choice in the world’s largest charter markets due to their exceptional value retention.

All of the Elan Impression models went through many successful iterations, redesigns and modernizations, but it’s been quite some time since a completely new Elan Impression model saw the light of day. Now is such a time.

After Elan successfully launched the unique grand tourer, the Elan GT6, and sporty Elan E6, the company decided to introduce a completely new yacht to carry the torch for the Impression Line. Thus, the Elan Impression 43 was born.

Boasting a modern wide-beam hull, the yacht offers much more space than previous models. Due to the continuing tradition of a raised coach roof, what Elan calls a “semi-deck-saloon”, it holds its own against most competitors as well.

It will surprise no one that the hull and sail plan was designed by the naval architecture studio Humphreys Yacht Design. Rest assured that the yacht will therefore have great sailing characteristics even at fully-loaded larger displacement yachts.

Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 54

The two architects behind this free-flowing, wonderfully nimble 54-footer are Roberto Biscontini and Lorzenzo Argento, whose creation paves the way for a new generation of high-end cruisers that optimize cockpit and interior layouts without any sacrifices to performance, practicality, or comfort. The yacht carries the unmistakable DNA of the Oceanis range, a delicate balance of form and function that make her as pretty as she is capable, and as focused as she is versatile, equally ready for a fast ocean passage or a leisurely double-handed sunset cruise. With an emphasis on build quality, high-end materials, and the innovative vision that has always been a staple of the BENETEAU brand, the Oceanis Yacht 54 truly represents the pinnacle of the modern monohull cruising design.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

With a straight stem allowing for new interior volumes in the bow area, and a maximum beam (5 m) carried further aft, the Oceanis Yacht 54 offers a state-of-the-art, perfectly balanced hull that maximizes thrills in all conditions. Movement on deck was given special attention, particularly around the cockpit, which modernizes the traditional center cockpit design into a flush layout with distinct areas dedicated to lounging and sailing. Aptly drawn coamings and high bulwarks provide increased safety while transiting to the foredeck, and access to the sea is provided by the spacious swim platform, which, when deployed, reveals the space below the cockpit to store an eight-foot inflatable tender. The Oceanis Yacht 54 is available with two different drafts: 2,50 m (standard), 1,95 m (option).

INTERIOR DESIGN

Lorenzo Argento’s objective in designing the interior was to create a warm, modern atmosphere with as much natural light and ventilation as possible. The Oceanis Yacht 54’s layouts reflect a desire to meet the needs of modern-day owners, through well-engineered, versatile cabin arrangements that provide unrivaled levels of comfort and capacious storage space. Tables and seating areas have been reimagined to offer both conviviality and practicality, and access to all major systems and components hides in plain sight. There are two versions available, a 3-cabin 2-head or a 3-cabin 3-head, and both can be built using light oak or walnut.

EVERY DETAIL OF THE OCEANIS YACHT 54 HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY EXAMINED TO BECOME ONE WITH THE CREW AND THE SEA.

She is, at a glance, unmistakably Oceanis – the mainsail arch, the modern sheerline, the elegant proportions, those distinctive coamings and portholes – and honors her pedigree by continuing to offer the features that have made the range a standard-bearer in the industry. A vast array of options, trim levels, rigging and keel setups, and mechanical components ensure there will be a tailored yacht to fit the needs of every sailor, and her stylish looks will turn heads in every harbor on every ocean

SAFE AND EASY SAILING

The Oceanis Yacht 54 isn’t just modern on the outside; it is a yacht that is crammed with the latest and greatest sailing technologies, intuitively built into her systems, that are designed to make the cruising experience as easy and as enjoyable as possible. Ship Control, an interface that allows access to boat data and components, is installed as standard. Dock&Go, which greatly facilitates engine-powered manoeuvering in tight spaces by combining a 360 degree rotating pod with a retractable bowthruster, is available as an option. Under sail, the optional Harken AST (assisted sail trim) automatically trims the sails based on apparent wind, all controlled by a simple display in the cockpit. Shorthanding a 54-footer has never been easier.

GREAT EASE OF MOVEMENT

The flush cockpit allows for seamless movement between the companionway and the helm stations, creating an invisible partition between active and passive areas on deck. The flow to the aft swim platform and down the gangways to the foredeck is remarkably natural, and the positioning of lines, winches and controls allows for near-effortless sailing. Sightlines from the helm forward are excellent. The cockpit seats feel comfortable yet snug, though it is the foredeck sunpad that is likely to be the most popular spot on the boat.

EXCLUSIVE TRIM AND MATERIALS

A close inspection of the Oceanis Yacht 54’s engineering and build quality reveals a craft that is decidedly a cut above the rest. Every single aspect of the boat has been carefully reexamined and nothing has been taken for granted - from the high-quality door fixtures and upholstery, to the exquisite molded woods of the interior, to the aluminum sub-floor that increases rigidity yet saves weight. The owner will be able to choose between two cabin layouts (both with two wood options available) and a palette of upholstery and paneling choices, to say nothing of electronic, mechanical, and rigging selections. Whatever the choice, on such a beautifully executed boat, the owner is bound to be one with the boat, and one with the sea.

The result is a hull that has true speed potential and is stiff under sail. Above the waterline, her deck plan and ultra-spacious interior by Nauta Design is unheard of on a boat this size. You cannot help feeling that you are aboard a 45 foot cruiser!

INTERIOR DESIGN

With a walnut or light oak ambiance, the styling of the interior by Italian designers Nauta, is remarkably bright and excels in the skilful arrangement of the living spaces. She is available with two, three or four cabins and a C-shaped galley on the starboard, offering lots of storage and a spacious worktop. On the port side, there is a large saloon with a table and a removable bench, and a chart table at the foot of the companionway provides ample working space. Everything is modular, so that everyone can live the way they want and enjoy sailing wherever the wind takes them.

12 METRES OF SPACE!

The philosophy of the Oceanis 40.1 is to make sailing and mooring really pleasurable. The strengths of this cruiser, studied in detail by the architect Marc Lombard and the BENETEAU design office, are unrivalled space inside, a huge deck plan and the ability to clock up miles when you are cruising.

Elan GT6 - Exterior

The fundamental idea behind the design of Elan’s new GT6 yacht designed by Studio F. A. Porsche is to create a modern and unique sailing experience that unifies nature and technology while traveling the high seas. The yacht’s exterior focus’ on combining minimalism with dynamics, while bringing watersports closer to nature. The result is a stunning aft deck composed of sculptured volumes inspired by aerodynamic elements used in sports cars. The elaborately curved surfaces allow for beautiful flares of light as well as the reflections of sky and sea.

Elan's flagship GT6 is a next-generation Grand Tourer that delivers the perfect balance of speed and power, comfort and luxury, good handling and precise control.

Stiff, stable and weatherly, the high-performance hull and sailplan by Humphreys Yacht Design are optimised for short-handed, medium-range cruising. Three generations of Humphreys/Elan design evolution and extensive CFD modelling produce a refined yacht that handles like a thoroughbred and delivers exhilarating performance on all points of sail, across the full range of wind and sea conditions.

Unique styling by Studio F. A. Porsche gives the GT6 a strikingly elegant silhouette with sharp, distinctive lines and elaborately curved surfaces that create beautiful flares of light as the yacht moves through the water. In the cockpit, excellent ergonomics and a host of innovative design features bring a new level of luxury to life on board.
